Great little small town motel. Good value for money. The rooms are not fancy but they got all the essential stuff right. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable - new mattresses -and the bedsheets were soft and freshly laundered. The shower was hot with lots of pressure. Good Wi-Fi. The owners have clearly made some improvements, I hesitated to stay here because some of the previous reviews were not good, but I will absolutely stay here if I am in the area again.

New ownership has invested resources into upgrading rooms. Kitchenettes are available. The room we stayed in had new mattresses and new bedding. New paint. Lots of hot water, great shower, fabulous restaurant across the road called Chris' Place. Being off the highway we expected road noise but we were pleasantly surprised that we didn't hear anything other than each other snoring hahaha! We were a little reluctant to stay after reading previous reviews. Sudesh posted that new ownership had taken over and were working hard on upgrading and improving the rooms etc. We decided that the only way to establish whether Lakeland was a good place or not was to visit and to report on our experience. Our experience was a positive one. It is clear that the new owners want both the restaurant and lodgings to succeed and are not afraid to ask for feedback and to implement changes that will benefit guests and local patrons whether in the motel or the restaurant. We were treated really well at the motel and the restaurant. We even got to be a part of the "test kitchen" when we were offered a soup that was not on the menu...yet! I hope anyone reading this review will be encouraged to try Lakeland Inn and Chris' Place when you're in the area.

My truck broke down, and I ended up at this motel without food or essentials after a long day. The front desk staff went above and beyond—they cooked homemade food for me, packed it, gave me water bottles, and even provided a phone charger. Such a kind and helpful family manages this place. Highly recommend staying here!

I would give the motel 3.5 stars. It's showing it's age with the doors not fitting properly. We stayed in 108N and couldn't shut the bathroom door. It was sticking bad and would make a horrible noise when opening, waking up anyone sleeping. The toilet flapper needed replacing because every 5 minutes it would fill. We stayed 3 nights. The beds were never made and we had to ask for fresh towels. These issues need addressing. The rooms are a decent size, clean and no signs of bed bugs. Right across the road is a restaurant and Co-op snack bar/gas bar/hardware store. It's a 2 minute walk or 30 second drive. Behind the motel and a short walk across the field, there is an ATV trail. Turn left (West) towards the golf course and in half a kilometer, you will come to a beautiful well maintained 3.5 KM gravel hike/bike/run trail. This goes around the course, through the bush and along side the lake with a couple of viewpoints where you can sit on the bench. It's a very peaceful walk with an ascent of only 11 meters. The kids will love to hear and watch the birds. You might even see a deer in the evening. Just make sure to bring bug spray. The owners of the motel should make this a selling point and have clear instructions on all of this.

Me and my family stayed here last week and it was great. My room was spotless and the beds were very comfortable. The air condition worked great as it was very hot during our stay so much appreciated. The family that owns the motel were absolutly wonderful and went above and beyond. They were so accomadating and took care anything I needed. They were also so pleasant and friendly. I will definetly be staying here again when I visit family and would recommend it to everyone. Also make sure if you stay to check out their restaurant across the high way withe food was amazing.
